BIO


Michael B. Carabello is a multifaceted pianist in the tri-state area. Carabello is a product of the Artists Collective Youth Jazz Orchestra under master artist in residence Rene McLean, as well as the Jackie McLean Institute of Jazz at the Hartt School of Music, University of Hartford. 

Mike has worked with many artists and diverse settings including Nat Reeves, Rene McLean, Antoine Roney, and Steve Davis. His performances include stints at New York Jazz Piano Festival at Kalvierhaus, Jazz at Lincoln Center, The Side Door Jazz Club, The Blue Note NYC, The Hartford Jazz festival, NYC Winter Jazz festival, and Newport Jazz Festival to name a few.  

He was among honorees to perform at The White House for First Lady Michelle Obama, honorary chair of the President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities (PCAH)

He remains active in leading his own ensembles, free-lance appearances and integral to several exciting projects in the New England area including Erica T. Bryan and the New Mosaic and the Lost Tribe, and is in the process of recording his first album as a leader.

He now is the new Music Director at the Artists Collective where he is developing curriculum to expose children in the Greater Hartford area to the music and arts of the African Diaspora.
